Villa in Halkidiki

This villa in Halkidiki is located directly on the seafront, approximately 30 metres from the water and around 10 metres above sea level. The site offers one of the most remarkable views we have ever had the opportunity to work with, and the entire architecture of the house was therefore conceived around its relationship with the sea.

Despite complex restrictions on the building footprint, the project has resulted in a two-storey villa with open, restrained architecture and a minimalist interior. The house is currently in the final stages of construction.

The view of the sea became the main starting point for the project. All principal spaces are organised to strengthen this connection and allow the landscape to remain a constant presence within the interior.

Both the architecture and the interiors are deliberately minimal. A restrained palette, limited decorative gestures and carefully considered proportions create a quiet background for the surrounding nature. At the same time, selected statement pieces of furniture and sculptural art objects give the interior a distinct identity.

A particularly important aspect of the project was the emotional quality of the spaces. Despite their openness towards the sea and landscape, the interiors retain a strong sense of privacy and protection.

The result is a calm and meditative house in which the architecture does not attempt to dominate its setting. Instead, it creates a continuous connection with the sea, light and surrounding nature, while maintaining a sense of comfort, privacy and shelter.
